Our Services

The Wolfson Unit has been working on the evaluation of wind assisted technologies since its inception, efficiently combining its expertise in model scale hydrodynamic and aerodynamic testing, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), performance modelling and sailing yacht research. The shipping industry has an urgent need to reduce its carbon emissions and to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. We are proud to be a part of this journey. Our services include:

Research

As well as conducting consultancy, the Wolfson Unit undertakes research in this field. Recent examples include our participation in an Innovate UK Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC) Round 4 as well as others. We can work with clients to develop research proposals as an academic partner due to our connection with the University of Southampton. These resources can be from within our team and stretch to the wider University Research community such as the Maritime group.
